I am a professor specializing in film 和 video production in the Department of Television, Film 和 媒体 Studies. I have been a university professor for the last 43 years. 我从1981年起就在这里任教了, with two years leave (82-84) to work as Program Director in charge of the Video Center at 美国电影学会. During my career I have taught a wide range of film 和 video production 和 studies classes at both the graduate 和 undergraduate levels. I enjoy teaching film 和 video production in a variety of creative environments.

In this way I provide my advanced students with real world opportunities while at the same time giving them an opportunity to begin networking with professionals 和 former students already working in the field.

Film is the most collaborative art form 和 requires the coordinated efforts of writers, 电影摄影师, 董事, 表演者和其他人. My film 和 video works include substantial collaborative work with artists 从 theater, 音乐和舞蹈. I have created music video 和 dance works with artists like Bobby McFerrin 和 choreographer 彼得•普希. I have been fortunate to have worked with some wonderful artists including 爱德华·詹姆斯·奥尔莫斯, 约翰·卫斯理·哈丁, 克里斯汀赫斯, 拉瓦尔·伯顿和维尔莫斯·兹格蒙德.

During the last five decades a significant portion of my work has been documentaries 和 music videos.  The music videos allow me to set aesthetic challenges for myself while engaging in interesting collaborations. I love to use color 和 visual texture as a lens on the quality of performance 和 a use of dreamlike spaces.

Through the documentaries I can explore things of interest to me (usually socio-political issues, education, 人权, 医疗保健, the arts or developments in film 和 video production),  In addition to my other projects I have created public service campaigns promoting education, 人权与健康
